An 8 for 11 effort from 3-point range in the first half staked the Navy women's basketball team to a double-digit lead at intermission in an eventual 76-41 victory over Lafayette Saturday night at Alumni Hall in Annapolis. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Mids (12-5, 5-1 Patriot League) while the Leopards (1-17, 0-6) remained winless in league play with the loss.
Navy was 5 for 6 from 3-point land in the first quarter to take a 19-13 advantage through the opening frame. The Mids would hold the Leopards to just two made field goals in second quarter to extend their lead out to 37-21 at the halftime break.
