BOWIE STATE FOOTBALL: Sophomore Robert Chesson (Old Mill) scored a pair of touchdowns on an 8-yard run and an 11-yard reception to help the Bulldogs (2-2) to a 55-13 victory over Shaw on Saturday.
Sophomore Amir Hall (Bowie) threw for a game-high 346 yards, completing 32 of 45 passes (five TDs) and redshirt senior Jordan Garrison had a game-high seven receptions for 65 yards in the Bulldogs' CIAA opener. Hall's five touchdowns tied his own school record.
With the win, Bowie State moves to 2-2, overall, and 1-0 in league play. The Bears of Shaw drop to 0-4 and 0-1 in conference action.
