NAVY MEN'S SOCCER: Sophomore Ericson Bean has been named the Corvias Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 18. Bean helped Navy post a 1-0 win at Saint Joseph's in the team's only game last week.
Bean, a center back, scored the game-winning goal in Navy's win at Saint Joseph's on Saturday night. Bean came forward on a corner kick and headed in Sam Bascom's serve in the 34th minute. It was Bean's first career goal.
Bean also helped limit Saint Joseph's to just two shots on goal with his play on the defensive backline and helped Navy post its second shutout of the season.
