Billy Hurley was surrounded by a captive audience and under pressure to perform. The Naval Academy graduate was participating in the Shot for Heroes kickoff event for the Quicken Loans National.
Hurley needed to land a shot on a target 95 yards away in order to earn $250 donations to Operation Home Front and the Tiger Woods Foundation. Hurley smoothly swung a pitching wedge and landed the ball on the Q insignia for Quicken Loans, only a few feet from the hole.
The Annapolis resident can only hope his approach shots are that accurate once the tournament begins on Thursday.
