Predators Sign Jackman to a Two-Year, $4 Million Contract

Jackman, 34 (3/5/81), has played 803 career NHL contests with the St. Louis Blues since 2001-02, posting 181 points (28g-153a) and 1,026 penalty minutes. Despite his rugged style, the 6-0, 203-pound blueliner has missed only eight games over the past four seasons and has served as a Blues alternate captain each of the past nine seasons. Perennially one of the team leaders in the hits and blocked shots categories, Jackman is one of just four defensemen in the last 25 years to win the Calder Memorial Trophy as NHL rookie of the year, beating out Rick Nash and Henrik Zetterberg for the award in 2003.
