UFC cuts 13 fighters from roster as cutbacks continue

The UFC's week of cutbacks ends with news that several fighters will no longer compete in the promotion.

MMAFighting.com has learned from sources that 13 fighters were recently released from their contracts. This comes just a few days after many from the front office, including several high-ranking officials, were let go under new ownership group WME-IMG.

Some fighters on the list have already been made public, including former UFC heavyweight title challanger Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva and lightweight Enrique Marin.

New names of note including popular veteran Tamdan McCrory, who went 1-2 in his second stint in the company; controversial heavyweight Cody East, who had a long criminal history including a rape charge; and veteran welterweight Kenny Robertson, whose Suloev stretch finish of Brock Jardine at UFC 157 was considered by many to be 2011's best submission.
