The thumb injury that forced Robbie Lawler to withdraw from his title defense against Carlos Condit at UFC 193 will keep him sidelined for approximately one month, according to a report from UFC Tonight.

Lawler’s injury does not require surgery, however, and he is hoping to return at UFC 195, which takes place in Las Vegas on Jan. 2. It is unclear if Condit will remain Lawler’s opponent when the 170-pound champion is ready to return to action.
