Looks like Gilbert Melendez is out of his UFC Fight Night San Diego bout with Al Iaquinta after failing his UFC 188 post-fight drug test with exogenous testosterone metabolites.
Another big name UFC fighter has tested positive for banned substances, and this time it's a pretty unexpected name in former Strikeforce champion Gilbert Melendez. The UFC announced Melendez's drug test failure via press release. Apparently Melendez tested positive for "exogenous origin of testosterone metabolites." In a statement released by the fighter he suggests that supplements he was taking pre-fight led to the failed test. He has currently been suspended for on year of competition.
