SQ Winter Blueprint: Toronto Blue Jays

Throughout the offseason, SQ’s MLB staff will be diagnosing each team’s ideal offseason plan. Today’s focus is on the Toronto Blue Jays.

2015 Summary

Last year, the Blue Jays finally made it back to the postseason for the first time since winning the 1993 World Series. Toronto rode into the trade deadline with the league’s best offense. Eventual American League MVP Josh Donaldson had a season to remember, designated hitter Edwin Encarnacion continued his torrid pace from the past few years and outfielder Jose Bautista once again lived up to his nickname, Joey Bats.

Then, at the trade deadline, Toronto set themselves up for a deep postseason run by acquiring shortstop Troy Tulowitzki and ace David Price.
