George Springer Exits with Quad Injury During Astros vs. Phillies

Houston Astros outfielder George Springer exited Monday's game against the Philadelphia Phillies due to left quad discomfort, according to Jerry Crasnick of ESPN.com.

He was 0-for-2 with a strikeout before exiting in the third inning.

Springer has been relatively durable lately, only missing a handful of games this year after playing all 162 last season. He entered Monday with a .311 batting average, 27 home runs and a league-leading 82 runs scored.

The 27-year-old also earned his first All-Star selection this year in his fourth season in the majors.
