Four Phillies pitchers combine to no-hit the Braves

Cole Hamels, Jake Diekman, Ken Giles, and Jonathan Papelbon combined to no-hit the Atlanta Braves Monday as the Philadelphia Phillies won 7-0 in Atlanta.

Hamels went six innings, allowing baserunners only via five walks. He struck out seven, but was pulled after the sixth with his pitch count at 108. Diekman struck out two in his only inning of work, Giles struck out the side in order in the eighth, and then Papelbon worked a perfect ninth to complete the Phillies first no-hitter since Roy Halladay’s in the 2010 NLDS against the Reds.
