6 MLB Stars Who Will Never Make The Hall Of Fame

The National Baseball Hall of Fame is a place that, in theory, commemorates and remembers the very best Major League Baseball players of all time. However, these next six former players should've been in the Hall of Fame, but will never get there for one reason or another:

Pete Rose

MLB commissioner Rob Manfred upheld Rose's lifetime ban from the sport for betting on games in which he played in and managed with the Cincinnati Reds, keeping baseball's all-time hits leader from even being able to be on the Hall of Fame ballot. At this point, it looks like Rose will never get in.

Barry Bonds

Bond's is MLB's home runs leader for both a single season and for a career, but is widely expected of having used steriods in his career - so much so that he became the face of the steriod era. As long as voters decide to keep all suspected steroid users out of the Hall of Fame, Bonds (who would be a first-ballot choice) won't even sniff entry, despite him being a three-time MVP and eight-time Gold Glove winner - before the steroid allegations.

Roger Clemens

Bonds the face of steroids, but Clemens isn't far behind. He is one of the greatest pitchers of all-time, winning seven Cy Young awards and being an 11-time All-Star who racked up 354 wins and 4.672 strikeouts in his career. Still, steroid suspicions will keep you from seeing him in Cooperstown.

Mark McGwire

How do you keep someone out of the Hall who is a 12-time All-Star and his 583 career home runs? Knowing it was almost all because of steroids.

Sammy Sosa

Sosa and McGwire's 1998 season, during which both players broke Roger Maris' record of 61 home runs in a year, will forever live in infamy as the centerpiece of how much steroids had tainted the game. That being said, Sosa knocked 609 home runs and won one MVP award.

Rafael Palmeiro

Remember when he wagged his finger in front of Congress adamantly saying he never used steroids? Yeah, good times. Palmeiro later admitted to using them, which is why he will never make the Hall of Fame despite his 569 home runs and 3,020 career hits.
