SEMO's McRoberts relishes shot at Mizzou

COLUMBIA, Mo. • There was a moment when Paul McRoberts thought he might play basketball for the Missouri Tigers. As one of the top scorers in the St. Louis area at Soldan High, McRoberts had contact with Mizzou assistant coach T.J. Cleveland, who expressed some interest in the 6-foot-3 guard.

McRoberts also starred for Soldan’s football team, earning all-metro honors after catching an area-best 64 passes as a senior in 2011.

On the court, he shined on the state’s biggest stage, leading Soldan to the 2012 Class 4 state championship at Mizzou Arena, where he outscored Hillcrest’s Dorial Green-Beckham — yeah, that guy — with a game-high 18 points in the title game.
