Mizzou grabs pledge from long snapper

COLUMBIA, MO.• Adam Bay, touted as the best high school long snapper in the 2017 recruiting class, pledged a verbal commitment to Missouri, he announced Friday on Twitter. Bay confirmed his commitment to the Post-Dispatch while in California for his high school team's game Friday night. He was unavailable for comment.

From Mesa, Ariz., Bay would help replace current senior snapper Jake Hurrell, who has handled the duties since his redshirt freshman year in 2013.

Mizzou has traditionally used walk-ons for specialist jobs and given scholarships to proven kickers, punters and snappers once they're established as starters.
