For the second time in a month, the Missouri athletic program has received a large gift from an anonymous donor.

The donor has contributed $1.675 million to the athletic program, the university announced Wednesday. Of that sum, $1 million is dedicated to the construction of a “new football facility” at the south end zone of Faurot Field.

The remaining $675,000 will be used for “other Athletics initiatives,” the school said.

“It is critical to keep momentum building with our drive for new facilities, and this is exactly the shot in the arm we need to keep that moving forward,” new athletic director Jim Sterk said.
