Almost a week after dropping their first regular-season conference game for the first time in over a year, Missouri State will have to climb their way out of the hole they’re in.
Last seed Illinois State defeated top seed Missouri State with a 1-0 win early Thursday morning.
Illinois State starting pitcher Brady Huffman held the Bears to three hits, while leading the Redbirds to a shutout of Missouri State.
The Bears haven’t been shut out all season.
“I don’t think he was a guy we should’ve gotten shut out by,” senior first baseman Justin Paulsen said.
