The St. Louis Cardinals announced that outfielder Randal Grichuk will join the Springfield Cardinals for a game Wednesday at Hammons Field.
It will be a rehab assignment for Grichuk, who is recovering from a back injury that landed him on the disabled list last week.
Grichuk, 25, will join the Double-A Cardinals on the last day of a four-game homestand. Springfield takes on the Northwest Arkansas Naturals at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Hammons Field.
Grichuk is hitting .215 with 9 home runs in 61 games for St. Louis this season.
