A weekend off came at exactly the right time for the Missouri State women’s basketball team.
After a victory.
The Lady Bears claimed their first Missouri Valley Conference win of the season last Friday, a 73-62 victory over Wichita State.
That ended a brutal three-game losing streak for the team, losses to Middle Tennessee, then Valley favorites Drake and Northern Iowa. The average margin of defeat in those games was 17 points.
The win over the Shockers gave the team a little momentum, and time to catch its breath before going on the road for two games this week.
