Bears wake up in elimination game #BearsWin

The Bears are awake.

It took a while, but an eight-run seventh inning led Missouri State to a 13-3 run-rule win over Southern Illinois in their first elimination game following an opening round loss to Illinois State.

After being shut out for the first time all season in the first round to the No. 8 seed Redbirds, it was a sigh of relief for the Bears.

“We played our game finally,” junior third baseman Jake Burger said. “It was nice to get some runs.”

Southern Illinois jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead after three solo home runs throughout the first and second innings.
