Bears suspend starting QB Ruddick for Kansas State game

Missouri State starting quarterback Breck Ruddick has been suspended for Saturday night's game at Kansas State.

The redshirt sophomore was suspended on Friday night for conduct detrimental to the team and will not return to team activities until the situation has been resolved.

Director of Athletics Kyle Moats said university officials support coach Dave Steckel's decision, and the suspension falls under the school's Student-Athlete Code of Conduct.

As an ongoing disciplinary matter, Missouri State officials will not make further comment on the incident.

A sophomore from Marion, Arkansas, Ruddick has started both of the Bears' games this season, completing 65 percent of his passes for 424 yards and four touchdowns against one interception.
