Mitch Moreland in MLB Playoffs After Career Year

Former Mississippi State slugger Mitch Moreland has had an extensive career with the Texas Rangers, and 2015 was his best in the big leagues. Now he’s in the MLB playoffs to cap off his great season with the American League West champs.

Moreland had career highs this year in batting average (.278), at-bats (478), on-base percentage (.330), RBI (85), doubles (27), slugging percentage (.482), hits (131) and tied his previous mark of 23 home runs. It was the third year out of six that he’s been a fixture in the Rangers’ starting lineup.

Mitch played at Mississippi State from 2005-07 and played in the College World Series for the ’07 team.
