Wild, Haula agree on 2-year, $2M deal

Just before an arbitrator would've ruled on a new contract, the Wild agreed to terms with forward Erik Haula on a two-year deal worth $2 million.

Haula, 24, is expected to start the season on the fourth line after recording 14 points in 72 games last season.

The contract agreement came together after an arbitration hearing Friday where the Wild presented the case for a one-year deal worth $775,000 and Haula's agent for a $1.2 million deal.

The arbitrator would've made a ruling Sunday had the sides not come to an agreement.

Haula, a former Gopher originally from Finland, shined his rookie season (15 points in 46 games) before a statistical regression last season.
