Wild lose to Jets 3-1 even with Zach Parise back on the ice

Wild winger Zach Parise returned to the lineup Friday against the Winnipeg Jets at Xcel Energy Center after missing eight games with a sprained knee.

He was activated from injured reserve about an hour before the 3 p.m. faceoff.

Minnesota went 4-3-1 without Parise, including Wednesday's disappointing 3-2 home loss to Vancouver. He was their leading scorer with seven goals when he was injured Nov. 5 on a check by Nashville's James Neal.

Parise participated in Minnesota's morning skate last Saturday but was limited and unable to absorb physical contact. Team doctors cleared Parise for game action on Wednesday.
