Vikings Working To Keep CB Xavier Rhodes From Holding

The Minnesota Vikings are trying an unorthodox method to help keep cornerback Xavier Rhodes from grabbing opponents.

Vikings defensive backs coach Jerry Gray bought a pair of boxing gloves for Rhodes, and makes him wear them at times during practice to prevent Rhodes from grabbing wide receiver, reports Twincities.com

"Some guys might tape your hands up or put your hands behind your back," Gray told Twincities.com. "There are other things that you can do. He's a tall guy and he likes to use his hands, but we just got to take the grip away from him.'"

Rhodes has been flagged 10 times this season, including nine for holding or pass interference. A first round pick in 2013, Rhodes has struggled with penalties for much of his NFL career.
