Zimmer Brings In Former Head Coaches To Take Vikings To Next Level

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — Mike Zimmer pulled no punches this offseason trying to improve an offense that ranked 29th in the league last year, hiring a pair of former head coaches — Tony Sparano as offensive line coach, and Pat Shurmur as tight ends coach.

Along with offensive coordinator Norv Turner, that’s three former head coaches on Zimmer’s staff. WCCO’s David McCoy talked to the new guys about fitting in.

Three former head coaches, and the current head coach too. That’s a lot of strong personalities on one staff.

“I think the good thing is, with Mike, everybody knows here who the boss is,” Sparano said.
