Vikings Trade Again, Move Up 9 Spots to Snag Pat Elflein

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. — The Vikings traded up for the second time Friday night, this time snagging center Pat Elflein.

Minnesota exchanged their 79th pick (third round) and 160th pick (fifth round) to the Jets to move up nine spots and select the Ohio State lineman.

Elflein started all 13 games at center for the Buckeyes as a fifth-year senior and team captain, and he went on to win the 2016 Rimington Award (best center in college football). Elflein joined Ohio State teammate Malik Hooker, who was drafted 15th overall by the Colts on Thursday, in becoming the school’s first pair of consensus All-Americans in one season since Orlando Pace and Eddie George.
