The Minnesota Vikings have a big question mark in the secondary at the strong safety position as they try to find someone who will play next to Harrison Smith.
Robert Blanton, Antone Exum, and Andrew Sendejo are the most likely candidates after the Vikings released Taylor Mays, but head coach Mike Zimmer said the starter will be determined in the preseason:
“The things that happen when they’re not playing the team they see every single day, those are much better evaluations because the checks happen faster, the different types of plays happen faster,” Zimmer said. “I would not read too much into who’s where right at this particular point, unless it’s Teddy [Bridgewater] or Adrian [Peterson] probably.”
