Vikings News: QB Christian Ponder to share first-team reps

In Vikings news tonight, the Minnesota Vikings continue to confuse fans and analysts about the future of former (and perhaps future) starting quarterback Christian Ponder.

Per Chris Wesseling of NFL.com, "NFL Media's Albert Breer reports Ponder will share first-team reps in offseason practices, along with Cassel and Bridgewater."

Many thought that with Teddy Bridgewater joining the franchise, the presence of both Matt Cassel and Bridgewater would leave Ponder out in the cold. However, according to Breer, Ponder has lost 2% of his body fat and gained five pounds of muscle - putting his name back into the conversation with sheer effort.

The Vikings may be looking at Ponder as a temporary reclamation project. If they can extract some on-field value from Ponder during the 2014 NFL season, they might be able to accomplish two things; potential victories and an increase in trade value for the former first-round pick who still has the raw physical tools to succeed.
