The weather will turn cold in November and December, and Mike Priefer will enjoy it.
The NFL last week changed extra-point attempts from 20- to 33-yard kicks, and the Vikings special teams coordinator figures that will play to the team's advantage as it plays five of its final eight regular-season games outdoors at TCF Bank Stadium.
"I'm excited about it. I think it will be a homefield advantage for us because it's nasty," Priefer said. "TCF is a nasty place to kick in November and December, and our guys will be ready for it. We'll be used to it, absolutely.
