Bridgewater "outstanding throwing the deep ball," raves Minnesota Vikings OC Norv Turner

One of the biggest knocks throughout the draft process on Minnesota Vikings rookie quarterback Teddy Bridgewater was a perceived inability of his to accurately throw the ball deep down the field.

However, per Master Tesfatsion of the Star-Tribune, new Vikings offensive coordinator Norv Turner has seen the exact opposite out of Bridgewater during the team's offseason activities.

“I knew he’d make great decisions, quick decisions, but he has been outstanding throwing the deep ball, which some people thought would be an issue," said Turner, clearly impressed with the former Louisville quarterback's natural talent.

“I think in the six-to-eight weeks we’ve had him on the field, I think he’s been put in a position where’s he’s had to make most of the throws he would have to make. I think he can make all the throws he needs to make.”

While there is still an open quarterback competition betweeen Bridgewater, Matt Cassel, and Christian Ponder, the 32nd overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft is already showing a propensity for both handling and adapting to an entirely new scheme with the Minnesota Vikings.

“I think Teddy came in as a great quarterback obviously,” Cassel said on Tuesday, via Tesfatsion's article posted on Wednesday. “I think he was well-coached in college [at Louisville]. He does a great job picking up the system. He’s aware of defenses and very knowledgeable on it. I think he’s done a great job up to this point.”
