Twins' Byron Buxton, Astros' Carlos Correa finally share spotlight

They will always be linked, the way the top two picks in any draft, regardless of sport, usually are linked.

The fact that Houston Astros shortstop Carlos Correa beat Byron Buxton to the major leagues by six days this June wasn't lost on the Twins' young center fielder.

"I saw when he got called up," Buxton said as the two prepared to occupy the same field for the first time in the majors. "I watched a little bit of his game after our game got over."

Buxton, taken second overall out of high school in 2012, was still toiling at Double-A Chattanooga at the time.
