Leading up to the trade deadline on Friday big trades have been made already. Troy Tulowitzki is now playing for someone other than the Rockies. Ben Zobrist was dealt to the Central leading Royals. Meanwhile here in Twins Territory the rumor is that the Twins are trying to pick up Joaquin Benoit or anybody else from the Padres bullpen. We have heard this for quite some time now, yet nothing. Cue the crickets.
The Twins bullpen would definitely benefit from acquiring a strikeout reliever. They could also solve a bigger problem down the stretch by closing the revolving door that is shortstop.
