Timberwolves Notes: New scoreboard, Muhammad’s defense

Shabazz Muhammad’s defensive issues have been well-documented over his first three seasons with the Timberwolves. He told the St. Paul Pioneer Press that his new boss, Tom Thibodeau, is “skillful” on the defensive end of the floor and will be able to help him moving forward.

Muhammad has been a mostly efficient offensive player, due to his low-post proficiency, good three-point shooting from the corners, an improving ability to get to the free throw line, and prolific offensive rebounding.

Here’s Muhammad on the idea of being coached by Thibodeau:

“I really want to learn how to get better on the defensive end,” said Muhammad, who often is tasked with guarding Andrew Wiggins in practice.
