Timberwolves at Rockets: Can they stay hot?

While Minnesota’s winning streak stands at just two games — and they’ve played just one game since the All-Star Break, they’re 12-9 since bottoming out at 11-26 back on January 7th. There have been a pair of three-game winning streaks and a pair of two-gamers, but nothing of a season-changing variety.

As play begins on Saturday, the Timberwolves are three games behind the Denver Nuggets for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference, tied with New Orleans and with Sacramento (one game back) and Portland (one-and-a-half back) standing in between.

There’s a lot of traffic to sift through if the Wolves are to make the playoffs for the first time in 13 full years, but it starts with stringing together wins.
