NEW YORK – The hope was the Timberwolves had found something.
Their frantic comeback from 17 down in the fourth quarter against the Knicks on Wednesday — one that saw them tie the game twice before ultimately losing at Target Center — had some hoping a switch had been flipped.
Not yet.
Once again yielding three-pointers in droves and not doing enough to protect the paint, the Wolves lost 118-114 to the Knicks Friday in the second game between the two teams in three nights in a game that looked very similar.
Down 10 entering the fourth, the Wolves bench took a one-point lead on Zach LaVine’s transition slam.
