Timberwolves set to add Serbian forward Nemanja Bjelica

Serbian forward Nemanja Bjelica set up his signing with the Timberwolves by opting out from his contract with Turkish club Fenerbahce Ulker on Wednesday, according to Sportando.

Bjelica, 27, could sign a three-year, $12-million contract with Minnesota, Sportando said. The reported buyout with Fenerbahce was $1.32 million, according to USA Today. He was selected with the 35th pick in the 2010 second round by Washington and traded to the Wolves on draft night.

Minnesota president of basketball operations Flip Saunders said last week that the franchise was looking to add Bjelica to the roster for 2015-16, but probably not in time for the Las Vegas Summer League, which begins July 10.
