Mike Reilly completed his Junior season at the University of Minnesota by leading the Gophers in points and by being named a finalist for the Hobey Baker. His 42 points (six goals, 36 assists) led all defensemen in college hockey. In his last two seasons with the Minnesota Gophers, Reilly was named the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year.

Reilly has decided to forgo his senior year, but has told the Columbus Bluejackets, the team that drafted him 98th overall in the 2011 draft, that he will not sign with them, but instead test the free agent market.
