For the first time since the 2004 NCAA women's basketball Elite Eight, Minnesota and Duke will meet Dec. 3 in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge, the conference announced Wednesday.
Minnesota will play Duke at Cameron Indoor Stadium in Durham, N.C.
The Gophers, who were led by All-Americans Lindsay Whalen and Janel McCarville, defeated the Blue Devils 82-75 on March 30, 2004, to reach their only Final Four.
In her first year as Minnesota coach last season, Marlene Stollings led the Gophers to a 23-10 record and their first NCAA tournament appearance since 2009.
Duke went 23-11 and advanced to the Sweet 16 last season.
