For the first time since the 2004 NCAA women's basketball Elite Eight, Minnesota and Duke will meet Dec. 3 in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge, the conference announced Wednesday.
Minnesota will travel to play Duke at Cameron Indoor Stadium in Durham, N.C.
The Gophers, who were led by All-Americans Lindsay Whalen and Janel McCarville, defeated the Blue Devils 82-75 on March 30, 2004 to reach their only Final Four.
First-year Minnesota coach Marlene Stollings led the program to its first NCAA tournament since 2009 last season after finishing 23-10.
Duke went 23-11 last season and went to the Sweet 16.
