How do you rest your hottest hitter?
Brewers manager Craig Counsell was asked that question Tuesday after he withheld leftfielder Ryan Braun from the starting lineup due to general soreness.
"I think of it like we have to give him rest to keep him hot," said Counsell. "That's how I think of it."
The Brewers and Braun knew they'd have to be careful this season after he underwent surgery in October to repair a herniated disc in his lower back. He was out of the lineup for the third time this season though he pinch-hit in one of the first two games he didn't start.
