Every manager wants as many weapons as possible in his bullpen to help win games, and the Brewers' Craig Counsell has had many dependable arms to call on this season.
"We've had a good group down there," Counsell said. "You try to get to a place where you don't have to tax anybody. I think the depth in the group has allowed us to do that."
It remains to be seen how much that group might be thinned by the start of next week. The Brewers have several relief pitchers who have drawn interest from other clubs, with left-hander Will Smith and closer Jeremy Jeffress seeing their names bandied about on the rumor mill often.
