MILWAUKEE -- Brewers reliever Brandon Kintzler's brief designation for assignment was rescinded Friday and changed to an injury move after Kintzler complained of discomfort in his knee. The team placed Kintzler on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to Thursday, with left knee tendonitis.
Kintzler pitched through pain in the same knee for most of last season and had surgery in October to repair a partially torn patella tendon.
Before the current injury issue came to light, Kintzler had been designated for assignment to make room for shortstop Jean Segura's return from the DL on Friday.
