Middlesbrough appoint former Leeds boss Garry Monk as new manager on three-year deal

Garry Monk has been named as the new manager of Middlesbrough on a three-year deal.

Monk departed Championship side Leeds United a fortnight ago after failing to agree terms on a new contract at Elland Road.

Sportsmail revealed on May 18 that Monk and Nigel Pearson were the frontrunners for the position and they were subsequently interviewed.
