Riverdale senior point guard Anastasia Hayes was named one of finalists for the Naismith High School Girls Trophy honoring the nation's top player as announced by the Atlanta Tipoff Club.
The winner will be announced next month.
Hayes was selected from 10 semifinalists. She averages more than 20 points a game and leads the team in assists (4.4) and steals (4.0).
Hayes, a University of Tennessee signee, is one of two future Lady Vols to be named a finalist -- the other being South Salem, Oregon's Evina Westbrook.
Hayes was recently named a McDonald's All-American, as well as a Tennessee Class AAA Miss Basketball finalist.
