TEXARKANA, AR – The Middle Tennessee men's golf team opened the Conference USA Championship Sunday with a 294 total in round one of stroke play at the Texarkana CC (par 72, 6,969 yards). The Blue Raiders are in fourth place in the 13-team field.
The tournament will have three rounds of stroke play, and then the top four teams will advance to match play on Wednesday. The team champion after match play will earn C-USA's automatic berth into the NCAA Regional.
North Texas grabbed the day one lead with a 5-under total of 293 while UTEP was second at 1-under par.
