SMYRNA -- Central Magnet's baseball team got a masterful pitching performance by Patrick Norman, who threw a one-hit shutout against Pigeon Forge in the Class AA state baseball tournament on Tuesday.
The Tigers advanced to the second round where they'll face Covington on Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. at Smyrna High School.
Norman, who had seven strikeouts, needed to at his best as Pigeon Forge's Brock Browning allowed only two hits while striking out nine.
I just try to put my team in a good position to win, pound the strike zone and let them put it in play," Norman said.
