OXFORD, Ohio – Expectations are high this season in Oxford after Miami set an NCAA record last year as the first team ever to open a season 0-6 and then end the regular season with a six-game winning streak to reach bowl eligibility. With a 6-6 regular season record, along with a tie for first place in the MAC East with a 6-2 mark, Miami ended the year with a 6-7 overall record after a 17-16 loss to Mississippi State in the St. Petersburg Bowl.

Fourth-year head coach Chuck Martin has rebuilt the program and after three seasons with records of 2-10 in 2014, 3-9 in 2015 and last year’s 6-7 overall record, the 2017 campaign is set for the RedHawks to challenge for the MAC East title and the program’s first visit to Detroit for the Marathon MAC Football Championship Game since 2010.
