Suspended receiver Ahmir Mitchell apparently is leaving the Michigan football program.
Mitchell, a freshman from Egg Harbor City, N.J., was one of two players suspended by coach Jim Harbaugh entering fall camp. He announced his departure with a statement on Twitter today.
"I will like to announce that I am hearby reopening my recruitment to all Universities and football programs," Mitchell wrote.
The U-M program does not confirm departures.
Mitchell wasn't in Ann Arbor long. He enrolled for the winter semester in January and was introduced at the Signing of the Stars event, but he was not in the team photo Aug.
