Riding its bubble to Minnesota, Michigan finds a challenge, and a prime opportunity

MINNEAPOLIS -- The NCAA Tournament bubble isn't as much a bubble, as it is a cloistered hive of hot uncertainty. There's no easy going fun in the bubble, unless you consider a deep malaise as fun.

Michigan has been here before. Just last year, in fact. This is the time of year when game results can wildly swing teams' postseason hopes in one direction or another. In, out. In, out.

On Sunday, Michigan (17-9, 7-6 Big Ten) will travel to Minnesota for a game (7 p.m. ET, TV: BTN) carrying a sneaky distinction. For the Wolverines, a win at Williams Arena could all but lock in a spot in the NCAA Tournament field, barring a total collapse to close the season.
