Michigan OL Grant Newsome back running after nearly losing his leg

ANN ARBOR -- The story has been well documented by now.

Michigan left tackle Grant Newsome nearly lost his right leg last October in a win over Wisconsin. It was a freak incident that saw him dislocate his knee, an injury that required a 10-day stay in ICU, multiple tests and half a dozen surgeries.

He even needed an emergency procedure to prevent his leg from having to be amputated.

Now, 10 months later, Newsome is back at it. In a video posted to Twitter Tuesday morning by Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh, the 6-foot-7 junior from New Jersey can be seen running sprints inside the Wolverines' practice facility.
